RICK L. CHUKASFounding Principal
Prior to founding NexGen, Rick was a partner in Arthur Andersen where he held a number of roles during his 23 year career with the firm. During his career with Arthur Andersen Rick served as Office Managing Partner of the Nashville Office, Southeast Region Managing Partner of The Economic and Financial Consulting practice and Global Managing Partner of the Valuation Services Group. Immediately prior to his departure from Arthur Andersen, Rick was a member of the U.S. State and Local Tax practice where he had National responsibility for the eBusiness and Government Credits and Incentives practices within the State and Local Tax group.
Rick is experienced in various aspects of federal and state taxation including income and franchise taxes, property taxes and sales and use taxes. He has worked across multiple industries including financial services, real estate, manufacturing, high-tech, construction and utilities. Rick has extensive experience in representing clients before various federal and state taxing authorities and agencies. He has assisted clients in preparing and submitting ruling requests, managing revenue agent's exams and consulting with tax departments on appropriate tax strategies.
Rick's most recent responsibility with Arthur Andersen was for the development of the firm's State and Local Tax eBusiness and Government Credits and Incentives practices and in managing the integration of these groups will all relevant practices within Arthur Andersen.
Rick has consulted with clients on a variety of business and tax-related matters. He has consulted with clients on a variety of transactional issues in the tax field that involve federal, state and foreign tax. He has also consulted and worked with clients on a variety of valuation issues including assisting clients in developing and executing strategies focused upon value creation and value maximization. He is experienced in working with Boards of Directors, Audit Committees and Senior Management of organizations.
Rick is a graduate of Iowa State University where he obtained a BS - Industrial Administration and The University of Iowa where he obtained a MA – Accounting. Rick is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Tennessee Society of CPA's in addition to other professional organizations. He is active in various civic and charitable organizations.
